Business will be integrated with previous acquisitions for a broad crop protection portfolio
Chemicals conglomerate Platform Specialty Products has agreed to buy agrochemical and nutrition products firm Arysta for $3.5 billion (£2.2 billion). Platform will integrate Arysta with two other agrochemical companies it has acquired this year – Agriphar for €300 million (£237 million) and Chemtura’s Agrosolutions business unit for around $1 billion. The combined business will give Platform a significant presence in the crop protection sector, covering seed treatments, pesticides and a variety of other products.
