Evonik plant that produced nylon 12 intermediate in Germany shut down
Two workers have been killed by an explosion and fire at Evonik Industries’ chemical plant in Marl, Germany. The plant produces cyclododecatriene, an intermediate used to make nylon 12, flame retardants, flavours and fragrances. The cause of the accident, which occurred on 31 March, remains unknown at this time.
