Fatal explosion at private aluminium powder factory
Four workers in a private aluminium powder factory near Amathur, India were burned to death following an explosion, according to local news reports.
The factory workers were apparently milling aluminium powder from solid blocks when the explosion occurred. The powder – which is used to make pigments, explosives and pyrotechnics – reportedly exploded when it accidentally came in contact with water, although a boiler explosion is also implicated. The Amathur police handling the case are searching for the ‘absconding factory owner,’ IndiaToday stated.
