A very good article. The concept of wave particle duality is indeed just a metaphor, but people really regard it as an objective fact. De Broglie's material wave is actually a phase wave, a mathematical wave, but after electron diffraction experiments, it is treated as a physical wave. These are all intentional or unintentional misunderstandings. The Schr ö dinger equation is based on the concept of matter waves. Born interprets the wave function as a probability wave, which is actually a physical wave rather than a physical wave. However, the results of electron diffraction and double slit interference experiments have led people to misunderstand mathematical waves as physical waves. Recently, our research has found that physical particle flows can also generate diffraction like and interference like patterns, fundamentally denying people's misconceptions about wave particle duality and the concept of matter waves.
