This free webinar will highlight cutting-edge digital innovations from the laboratory of John F Hartwig and the Digital Innovation group at Merck KGaA.

Join us for an interactive online event, in which Hartwig will showcase his recent research using three-dimensional machine learning models to predict regioselectivity and stereoselectivity in homogeneous catalytic reactions. Additionally, Sara Wirsing will discuss practical applications of digital technologies driving chemical development and catalytic reaction optimisation at Merck and across the chemical industries.

By attending this hour-long webinar, you will gain insights into:

  • Advanced digital methods for predicting regioselectivity and stereoselectivity in diverse homogeneous catalytic reactions
  • Leading-edge research outcomes from a globally renowned academic laboratory
  • Practical examples of digital innovation enhancing chemical development and optimising catalytic reactions at Merck

Speakers

John F. Hartwig, Henry Rapoport professor of chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley

John F Hartwig

John F Hartwig is a distinguished chemist celebrated for his pioneering contributions to catalysis and organometallic chemistry. His seminal research on palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions has profoundly impacted synthetic chemistry and pharmaceuticals, earning him numerous prestigious awards and global recognition.

Computational Chemist at Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany

Sara Wirsing

Sara Wirsing is a computational chemist at Merck, holding a PhD in chemistry with a specialisation in computational spectroscopy. Her postdoctoral research concentrated on automating the quantification of sustainability for new Merck products. Leveraging her diverse experience, she now drives interdisciplinary research projects that combine molecular modelling and data-driven solutions.

Certificates of attendance will be sent to all who attend the live broadcast. Please ensure you register using the exact name you would like to see on the certificate. Closed captions (in English) are available for this webinar.
